Towels

We always highly recommend you washing the towels before use to achieve ultimate softness and a happy long life. Use a delicate washing program with a low spin cycle, and wash at maximum 60 degrees Celsius. Use minimal detergent and the fabric will last longer. Avoid fabric softeners as this may affect the natural absorbency of the fabric. Tumble-dry on low temperatures. This will help keep the terry fabric soft and fluffy.

We at Team Bongusta have already pre-washed your Bathrobe/Poncho, however, we always highly recommend you washing it before use to achieve ultimate softness and a happy long life. Use a delicate washing program with a low spin cycle, and wash at maximum 60 degrees Celsius. Use minimal detergent and the fabric will last longer. Avoid fabric softeners as this may affect the natural absorbency of the fabric. Tumble-dry on low temperatures. This will help keep the terry fabric soft and fluffy.

Thread pulling

Thread pulling It is not unusual for loose threads to appear in a terry fabric but with the right care you won’t even notice they have been there. If a loops snags, cut it off at the base with sharp scissors – do not pull! The double threads are secured on the back and will not run when you cut them. Leaving loose threads dangling can cause the terry fabric to unravel.

tufted rugs

Our hand-tufted rugs are made of 100% wool and therefore cannot be washed. The wool in the carpets can shed, which is a normal process that occurs with natural fiber carpets. The shedding will subside over time and after vacuuming. Any stains can be removed with a damped cloth. If extra thorough cleaning is required, we recommend dry-cleaning.

The hand quilting technique is a traditional craft that ensures a homemade look that Bongusta loves and appreciates. Due to the handmade quality, you must be very careful when cleaning the hand quilted pillows and bedspreads. Gently shake them outside in fresh air to get rid of potential dust. But in order to take care of the quilted Bongusta products as best as possible, we recommend that you have them cleaned professionally using dry-cleaning.

chindi rugs

Our Chindi rugs are woven by hand from waste materials, primarily cotton, but other fibers may be present due to the nature of the waste material. Chindi rugs are best hand washed cold without soap or washing powder. No spinning or tumble drying - just hang the rugs to air dry. Do not iron or dry clean. Follow these simple instructions to ensure that your Chindi rugs will remain beautiful for many years.

Poplin Pillows

Bongusta's cotton pads in the Papelain series are suitable for washing. They are made of 100% poplin cotton and can be machine washed at 30 degrees Celsius.
